Remember there a non-pollution and pollution heads in the red area. Blues should be all pollution heads. Valves should be same across the board. Well in HQ & LH/LX they were. Why not get new seats and guides and go for slighty bigger valves with ULP safet

Have to disagree. You should never fit bigger valves to a 253. The valves are sized to suit a 308, and even a very lumpy 253 won't need as much flow as a stock 308. All you will achieve is a loss of torque.

Bigger valves in a 253 can also foul on the cylinder walls & require reliefs which lowers compression - a backward step!

Disagree on the above ! If 253's cant take bigger valves why did Yella Terra make a GAS head for a 253/308 RED ? It has larger valves than bog standard, and its says THEY DO NOT FOUL the cylinder walls or pistons. Obviously a STAGE III racing type would b

The gas heads are fine because they have the small 1.810 valves. The larger valves are 1.94 and as mentioned can cause fouling problems in the 253.
