Hi, John usally its the oil pump/crank seal or one of the cam seal, I would degress wash down run it and confirm then strip the timing belt covers off, I had a mitsubihi lancer that was leaking same area suspected the crank/oil pump seal when I stripped it I could not see where it originated so I wash it down refitted the balancer ran it with out the cover it ran for five minutes befor itstarted to leak. if it is the crank/pump seal becarefull u get the correct size seal a couple different sizes from memory and the nose of the seal area on the crank has a sharp edge carefull not to cut the seal. fit a full timing belt kit while u are there. pete.
