WL or WM?

I have a bit of experience with the VE/WM system, but not the earlier ones.

We had a clown back into the front of our VE and drive off - luckily we got the details from a witness, and the numberplate impression left on the bar.... It also makes it easier when they park in the same spot every day at my wife's workplace.

Anyway, it smashed the crap out of one of the front sensors, the bar reo, and washer bottle (yet outward appearance of the bar suggested it was only a light tap). I duly bought all the replacement parts from Holden & fitted them - only to arrive at the same issue you have now.

I found they updated the front sensors on the VE/WM during early production, and the ones they sell as a replacement - which do plug in, aren't compatible with the early VE setup - they beep & do all the right things, but they don't sense any distance or put the graphics on the screen. Putting a 2nd hand early one in place fixed the issue, but they're still a bit hit & miss whether they work or not. Also, since then, the rear ones work intermittently too. I've been over all the plugs & wiring, and everything checks out.

They didn't change any of the sensors when the bars were off?

Cheers,

Mick
