I am renewing these pipes on my car and I am not able to buy the correct size stone guard material for either of these pipes. I have a piece that is a reasonable fit for the brake pipe but nothing close for the fuel pipe. Would appreciate to know if the correct size material is still available for either of these pipes and if so who sells it.

Are you talking about what looks like a spring wound around the brake & fuel pipes ?
If so, I stock it for 3/16" & 1/4" pipe, but not for 5/16", which is what GM-H use for their fuel lines.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

Dr Terry, thanks for the reply and that is the parts I am talking about. Not sure what there really called. I will get by with the brake pipe piece which is already installed on that new pipe, but would still be interested if anyone has any details of where to get the correct material for the 5/16 fuel pipe. The details of the fuel pipe as best as I can determine as follows. Imperial - Fuel pipe: 5/16" or 0.3" - Stone guard/spring - inside diameter 0.35" - outside diameter 0.45" Metric - Fuel pipe 8.0 mm - Stone guard/spring - inside diameter 9.5mm - outside diameter 11.0mm. Appreciate any details given.

I just had some fuel lines made for my car. Try Dave at Bellarine Classic Autos, as he has a supplier with the correct spring. I'm not sure if he will sell you just the spring, but it couldn't hurt to ask. (Be patient, as he is difficult to catch sometimes)

Hi Gerard,
I happened to be speaking to Dave today on an unrelated matter, and asked him about your issue. He thinks it should be fine to supply just the spring. His mobile number is 0412 109 239.
