Hey Guys, New to this so bare with me on it. Just brought a HKTG to muck around with, pulled the front passenger guard off to clean rust and found this spring. Just wondering on its purpose. Ive tried to post a photo. Cheers http://s12.photobucket.c...622_zpsdjteqzli.jpg.html

Hi Jeffro. I can't really tell from your photo, but the only spring that lives in there is about 120mm long, has 15 coils about 25mm in diameter. One end hooks into a hole in the inner fender. The other end hooks into a clip around the brake hose. The spring keeps the brake hose up and out of the way of wheel and suspension components for all combinations steering lock and wheel travel.

Hi gm5735, I haven't got one with me to check but from memory I don't think that spring is quite that long. Jack

I believe that gm5735 is correct, that is the brake hose spring which all HK/T/Gs had.
The 120 mm length includes the rather long end 'hooks'.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

Thanks heaps guys. gm5735 would be spot on as it lines up with the brake line and the measurements seem spot on. Just wanted to check to make sure of what its for as the previous owner took the brakes off the front.
