It doesn't sound like a fuel problem.

My money would be on either the DFI module or the crank angle sensor. Both moderately cheap to replace.

Definitely crank sensor or ignition module.

If it's a V6, pour water down the front of the motor (aiming behind the main pulley) and if it starts quicker than 3 minutes wait, then it's definitely the crank sensor, which is the more common failure on the V6.

If it's a V8, try the same water trick on the alloy module behind the air filter box (these are the more common failure on V8s).

When they go flakey, it's usually heat-soak that shows up the problem. Waiting 3 minutes allows it to cool a bit, and come good.
The thermal shock from the cold water normally kicks them back into life sooner if they are on their way out, and helps pinpoint the issue.
Cheers,

Mick
