I have a tacho in the VK, with the old est distributor it worked fine but I have now fitted a hei dissy and the tacho is not working. I tried attaching the tan wire in the harness still no go, but when i connected the wiring to the coil I only connected the one pink wire to the + terminal, should I have connected the other wire to the -?
I assume if I do it won't confuse the computer/distributor.
thanks

Brown wire at the coil to the coil - terminal is what makes the tacho work
Cheers,

Mick

Thanks Mick. What I did was replace the coil, and run the wires from the hei dissy to the coil, with the pink wire from the ignition switch to the + terminal and the other wire from the loom just hanging loose, should I connect that to the -ve coil?

Yep - that other loose wire should be dark brown, and is the tach wire. It goes to the coil - terminal (which is the green wire from the dizzy to the coil).
Cheers,

Mick
