My HQ 202 ute that I am restoring has the hoses on the thermostat housing looped back. The inlet manifold looks to have a corroded connector so does not have hoses connected or coolant flowing through it. I have a new heater core. I have seen two way and three way taps for sale. Would a two way tap work or do it need to recreate the whole circuit along with a replacement manifold?

HQ Holdens didn't get a heater tap, unless they had factory A/Cond. You're better off replacing the inlet anyway, the engine will run much better especially in winter. You could just run the 2 hoses from the thermo housing to the heater core if you wish, the heater will work fine. Dr Terry Edited by user Monday, 7 June 2021 10:24:00 AM(UTC)

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |
