Are there any recommended local manufacturers of sumps, for a Holden 308, that offer a good fit to the block? It doesn't need to be a high capacity type but internal baffles would be nice. If not, is there a better other source? edit: For an HX. Edited by user Monday, 15 April 2024 9:31:48 AM(UTC)

ASR sumps are locally made and are good quality.

I'm currently sourcing an original sump to see if it also leaks at the rear. I originally thought it was the rear main (when running in the engine) but it turns out that the "locally manufactured" sump doesn't seal well. I'm using a rubber gasket with a bead of silicon on each of the metal mating surfaces. It is a sump with a higher capacity and internal baffles. Before naming the manufacturer I want to check with an OE sump and wanted to research other known good sump suppliers. This post was inspired after speaking with the manufacturer and hearing them say "pressed steel pans are not very good", yet that is what they sold me under the banner of high quality.
