Hi,
Can anyone decipher HR firewall plate codes?
My HR has the following.
BODY: HR225-61252-S
TRIM: 1223-E59
PAINT:585-10317
INSERT:D
TOP:585-9562

Small fire wall plate: S135512

Engine Number186A62135

I sent these same details to Holden Historical Services. They responded say they were unable to access any Holden archives.As archival material is being relocated from Melbourne to South Australia.

Any help appreciated.

HR225 = Holden HR Special Sedan
61252 = Body number
S = Sydney built
1223 = GMH combination code for Grecian White over Cordovan Maroon
E59 = Trim number for COPRA & VALSAND FAWN 2-tone interior
585-10317 = Dulux paint code for Cordovan Maroon (Body colour)
585-9562 = Dulux paint code for Grecian White (Top = Roof colour)

S135512 = 135,512th car built in Sydney (Pagewood) since the start of HR production. This includes Chevs, Pontiacs, Bedfords etc, that were built at this time.

186A62135 = Engine number 186 ci 6-cylinder. I think that this is not the original, its number is from an earlier HR.

I believe that the D on the INSERT line was to indicate that a new type of Dulux paint was used.

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0
