Just bought a VP manual V6 ute.
Can I just swap the level 1 dash for a VP level 2 dash, or do I need the dash loom as well?

Level 2 are plug & play into level 1, no probs at all.

Only use VN/VP ones in it, as VR & VS will not work & damage will occur.

If you use a VN cluster in a VP you probably won't have the "press remote" light I may be wrong here though. Anyway even without that light the incessant beeping will tell you to press the damn remote button.

Thanks Jim.
I've put a VP level 2 dash in....and it works fine.
However the interior light doesn't work.
I didn't try the light before the swap...light just stays on now irrespective of what position the dash switch is in.
I'll install the original sw

Just be careful that the donor car didn't run a BCM, as some VP Berlina spec cars did.
These cars had different satellite switches because of it (things like wiper intermittent won't work etc). Could be a reason for the interior light.

Thanks Mick.
Everything is working fine so far.
Interior light is fine....I didn't allow for the time delay for the light to go off after closing the door :-(
Haven't actually checked for a BCM in either car, but will do so tomorrow.

The ute won't have one, but the Berlina might (if it was LX spec as a base).
The LX also got the trip computer dash & climate, as well as full electrics - that will help you judge it.
