the tag reads as a 308 4spd.
A9X has HQ-WB stud pattern
model number on the plate for an SS should read 8VD77 .
(A9X) is an option code that would appear after the model number if that is what it is.
If the number reads 8VC77 it is a SL hatchback 6/8

AFAIK A9X never appeared on the BODY plate. An A9X was only an option on an LX SS, and as all of these were built in Melbourne there is option codes on the plates. Email me the VIN number and I'll look at what I have. I have a list somewhere of all A9X VI

Hi Guys.

Byron, wasn't the A9X option also available on the LX SL/R 5000.

Also was that a typo, you didn't mean to say that Melbourne cars DID have A9X on the plate did you.

Near the canister RH side of engine bay.

If it's not there, because of panel replacement etc it is repeated on the compliance plate. That's the plate with the date on it.

If you want to restore the car to original, and you are OK with restamping a number (by OK I mean prepared to accept any legal or moral issues) then this is how to do it on an LH/LX, also assuming you have access to the correct stamps:

Unpick the trian
