I'm trying to do something similar. Does anyone know how to tell if the TX valve on an older under-dash unit is compatible with a new compressor?

Hi Guys.
I've done dozens of HD/HR a/cond installations & they are probably one of the more difficult Holden model series to do. There are 2 problems.
1st is lack of a good off-the-shelf mount/drive kit to suit a modern rotary style compressor. To |
If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0 |

Thanks for that run-down Dr.Terry. I think I can cover all of what you have suggested. The under-dash evaporator is complete with the TX valve so I assume they are matched, but is there any way of telling if it's compatable with R134a gas?
