Guys,

Anyone running a V8 in a HZ with 3 core radiator, shroud and clutch fan - do you have a spacer between the fan and the waterpump pulley?

My fan is extremely close to the crank pulley (3 groove).

Cheers

Hi Byron,

Yep, standard 3 core radiator and shroud, although I think the fan is actually from a later model.

Reason I asked (apart from the fan being extremely close to the lower pulley) is that I know there is a small spacer available, but not sure

A later model fan with square blades won't work with the HQ-HZ shroud. The HQ-HZ fan has rounded blades. I'll see what I can find.

Looking at your pictures I think I can see the Acc AirCon pully (the one near your blades) and a factory water/alternater and power steer pully. The AirCon one is its own insert and you should be able to remove it by undoing the 4 bolts that hold it to th

Crowe,

Cheers for that.

Yep, thought I could take the air con pulley off.

However, had a bit more of a look at it today and think Byron might be on the right track... If I put the spacer on with the current fan, it will hit the inside of the

I have a curved edge fan and looking at your pic yes i see what you mean. you need to space your fan to max vacuum capacity ie- the outer part of your blade has min clearance to shrould. always remember as fan rpm increases the blades will naturaly flex i

That's a WB onwards fan. See if you can get a HZ taxi (6cyl with the same radiator) shroud. HQ 350 Chev shroud is nearlly the same - Rare's might have these. Then you can push the fan further forward. Show me a better photo of the shroud.

Byron,
The shroud is standard HZ V8. Re: the fan, I think it came off a VH I wrecked out a couple of years ago. Shouldnt I be able to get the correct fan for HZ with this shroud? Will get another pic of the shroud this morning.

Cheers

You will be able to get the original one, although I reckon the one you have is a better fan. I tried to make that fan work with that shroud and a 3/4/5 row radiator in my HZ Overlander and it wouldn't fit, but I was using the longer waterpump (bigger bea

Byron,

Thanks for you help. I will try to get the correct fan and give that a go first. Failing that, do you know the part # for the 6 cylinder shroud or is there only one style?

Cheers

Kev
