Tow bar cleaned up and now fitted with a 5mm thick angle brace. 50 years of wear and tear was too much a risk so the brace should keep the trailer in place. Also added a tab to mount the trailer plug. It's now painted and fitted ready for the start of our new project.

I NEED TO START ANEW PROJECT This motor is just a stock 5.0 litre VT Clubsport motor with a 5 speed Getrag 290 gearbox and it needs a new home. It had 178,000km in it when removed. Inlet is a Speedmaster 8 throttle body setup. Injectors are 931 LS1. It has a new Bosch starter motor and there's a new VT high output 120amp alternator. All it needs to get it up and running is a dissy and a wiring harness as well as a pulley setup. These can be taken from any model Commodore from VC on....

I think I'll need some cutting, bashing and welding to get these to fit. These aren't going to fit any other way..

295 on a 10" vs 225 on a 8"

Projects have been a bit quiet lately. However I have been busy cleaning up and preparing the garages for the woodworking job that is coming. 2 teardrop campers at once will be a fun challenge.

Step 1 Sort everything out and make space.

Yet another job to get sorted on the EH ute. No sound system sorted as yet so this speaker setup from Travis Maddicks will finish it all off. It sits up behind the stock EH speaker grille. All I need to do is find the time to get it done.

Sorted out my Chinese fog/driving lights. Interestingly with both lights on and both halo rings on the total current draw is only 0.5 Amp or equivalent to 6 watts. Definitely not going to blind any oncoming drivers.

Fabrication time

Pulled the camper to pieces for chassis painting. All the floor mounting screw holes were pre-drilled then the floor was removed and some final welded finished to keep it all together, I rebated the front edge of the floor to neatly house the lower front end of the roof. Finally I swapped the 2" drop axle for the 4" one we are using. Hopefully the weather will allow me to paint the chassis tomorrow and get the basic wiring and plumbing in place
