I have an issue with the bolt pattern on a 308 that I bought some years ago. It is supposed to be a Trimatic pattern so that I can fit a manual gearbox. The dowels and upper bolt holes line up but the bottom two are about 1/2 hole out. Has anyone known this issue before?

It obviously isn't a Turbo pattern as they are quite a lot different, and I have a couple of bellhousings and a trimatice geabox which all have the same issue, so it's not them.

Regards

Will

That sounds a bit odd. Does it look like someone has maybe filled, faced & re-drilled the lower holes ?

If at first you don't succeed, just call it Version 1.0

I don't think so. I will take a few pics tonight. I would understand if the holes were elongated but they aren't.

There are only two variants right. When I bought it, from Gazza's in Melbourne, they said it came out of a ute with a trimatic. The onl thing I can guess is that the bolts were never in there!!!

hmmmmmmm I tried taking a few photos last night but they didn't come out too well. On further inspection, a couple of the other holes don't quite line up either. Curious!

I'll clean it up and take more pics this arvo.

Anyone any ideas?
